MILE’s Pioneering Study on Black Carbon and Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP) Reduction in Iraq

With support from Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), MILE is leading efforts to reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs) in Iraq, with a particular focus on black carbon—a pollutant that directly contributes to rising temperatures. Our pioneering study on near-surface black carbon concentrations aims to better understand how these aerosols interact with local weather patterns, providing valuable insights to help reduce SLCP emissions and mitigate their impact on the environment.
